Expression of Interest in the GSK Innovation Challenge
The Challenge is to generate a miniaturised, implantable wireless device that can chronically record, stimulate and block functionally specific neural signals to and from a single visceral organ. The research team that is first to create a device which satisfies a set of detailed success criteria will be awarded the $1 million prize.
To download a copy of the biological success criteria, peripheral organ models, detailed experimental protocols, device specifications, assessment of nerve functionality, Intellectual Property and T&C please express your interest by completing the fields below. In exchange for expressing interest, you will be given access to the secured area of the website. You will also be able to make your interest known to other researchers on the site, allowing you to connect with them and discuss shared challenges, and potentially join together as a solving team.
Note: access to the Innovation Challenge website will be limited to researchers active in the fields of organ physiology, peripheral nerve interfaces, wireless systems, neural signal analysis, microelectronics, power and data management. Prior to granting access, GSK will also verify that those who have expressed interest are affiliated with a research institution (e.g., university, company, or other institute) and/or have a publication record within peer reviewed scientific journals within the relevant fields of research
